Story and vision
Villa Maria is a family property of third generation. It brings the name of the owner Maria, whoes background is a famous industrial family from Milan. In the 3o' she married a nobleman from Palermo. During the 50' the family bought the Villa as a summer house and transformed completely the style from Liberty into Bauhouse. Many architects visit the house to appreciate the unique spirit and authentic story of the building. There many original designer pieces and furniture, yet we can say it's like living in a museum of the modern art. The property is sorrounded by the centuries-old park with a magnifecent view of the lake. The breakfast in the garden is one of the favourite moments of our guests. There are also very romantic sunsets one can view from the terrace during an aperetive.
We are very open and friendly to our guest. Some of them become our friends and keep on visiting us. We try to keep a family home atmosphere so that the sensation is the comfort of a private house rather than a hotel. Our philosophy is to show the life in Italy. We often give suggestions for the places to visit and interesting things to be done in the lake area. There are many hiking roads and rock climbing mountains. Possibility to rent a boat or just organise a journey with a taxi boat. As for the courses and activities we will warn you about the dates and events that will be held for subscribing to the mailing list here below.
